How to Duplicate Activities
Duplicating activities in ChangePlan lets you quickly copy existing activities to another initiative while keeping key details like the audience, deliverers, and owners. This saves time and ensures consistency across initiatives.

1. Duplicating an Activity While Creating a New One
If you’re setting up an activity and need to create multiple similar ones, use the "Save & Duplicate" option.
Steps:
- Go to a Single Initiative View and navigate to Activities.
- Click + New to create an activity.
- Fill in the required fields (e.g., intervention type, title, dates, audience, deliverers).
- Click Save & Duplicate at the bottom.
- A new activity will be created with the same details, allowing you to adjust any necessary fields before saving.
🔹 Tip: This is useful when setting up similar activities with minor variations, such as different dates or slightly adjusted content.
2. Duplicating an Existing Activity
If an activity has already been created and you want to copy it to the same or another initiative, follow these steps.
Option 1: Duplicate from Kanban View
- Navigate to Single Initiative View > Activities.
- Switch to Kanban view (Change Phase).
- Locate the activity you want to duplicate.
- Click the Duplicate icon on the activity card.

Option 2: Duplicate from List View
- Go to Single Initiative View > Activities.
- Switch to List View.
- Select the checkbox next to the activity/activities you want to duplicate.
- Click the Duplicate button in the top-right.

When duplicating, users can:
- Select a destination initiative where the duplicated activity will be placed.
- Retain the targeted audience (optional).
- Retain activity deliverers & owners (optional).
- Set a new due date for the duplicated activity.

Best Practices for Duplicating Activities
✅ Use duplication for repeating tasks, such as training sessions or communication efforts.
✅ Adjust the due date and initiative details to fit the new context.
✅ Review retained details to ensure they align with the new initiative’s requirements.
