How can we help?

Add and manage impacts

Capture what's changing, for whom, and when

Who this is for: Users who can edit an initiative
Impacts describe what changes for people: what’s different, how big the change is, and who it affects. They drive the Change Impact heat map.

  1. Choose the Type, then describe the Change and its Impact on audience.
  1. Under Audience impacted, add the affected audiences and set how strongly each is affected (High, Medium or Low).
  1. Choose when the impact affects them: At go live, or Choose dates.
  1. Save.

Set dates for an impact

Choose dates to control when the impact shows on the heat map
Choose dates to control when the impact shows on the heat map
The dates you set control when the impact shows on the heat map. Use date ranges for phased roll-outs or multiple go-lives.

Link an impact to activities

Connect each impact to the activities that support it so you can see which audiences are covered and where the gaps are.

Edit or delete an impact

Open the impact to edit it. Deleting removes it from the heat map and from any linked activities.

Import impacts in bulk

More about impacts

  • Impact owner and notes: you can name an impact owner (anyone in your organisation) so it’s clear who is responsible, and add notes to the impact.
  • Who you can add: impacted audiences can be org groups, individuals or custom groups on the initiative. People in an org group take on the level you set for that group, and you can set a different level for each group.
  • Impact types: the list of types (for example Organisational, Customer, Structural or Technological) is set up for your organisation.
  • Find gaps: sort impacts by the number of linked activities to spot changes with no support, then link existing activities or create new ones.
