The application now has a redesigned top menu and a new collapsible left side menu.

Browsing and opening initiatives

When you open ChangePlan, the application opens to the Initiatives page, with a table listing all Initiatives for which you have permission to view and edit.

  • Click the name of an initiative in the cell in the β€˜Name’ column of the table to open an initiative directly
notion image
  • The left side menu shows your most recently viewed initiatives for quick access
  • Click the initiative name to open it
notion image
  • You can click on the three dots on the right side of the Initiatives item in the left menu to access a menu where you can choose whether the quick access list of initiatives is sorted by most recent or alphabetical order:

Switching between initiatives

The dropdown at the top of the screen that previously appeared next to the initiative name has been removed.
To switch between initiatives, hover to the left edge of the screen to expose the main menu, where your recently viewed initiatives are listed.
If the Initiative you want isn't there, you can either click the Initiatives link to return to the full table, or use the search field at the top of the screen, typing in the initiative name and clicking enter or pressing the blue arrow button to activate the search.

Creating initiatives and portfolios

Click the Create button in the top menu to start a new initiative or portfolio. See the Creating initiatives section below for full details on the new create dialog.

Reports

The accordion under the Reports title has been replaced with a dedicated reports page. Click Reports in the navigation to go there directly.

Getting back to the home screen

Click the ChangePlan logo in the top left at any point to return to the All Initiatives page.

2. Global search

A new search bar is now available at the top of every page.
notion image
Type a search phrase and press Enter (or click the arrow button) to run a search. Results open in a dedicated search results page, where you can click any link to navigate directly to that item.
πŸ’‘ Search does not update in real time as you type β€” you need to press Enter or click the arrow to see results.
Currently, global search covers initiative and portfolio names only. Coverage will be expanded in a future release.
⚠️ Global search vs. table search
These are two separate features. The magnifying glass icon on the top right of a table searches within that table only. The search bar in the top menu searches across the whole application.

3. Alerts page

A new alerts page is accessible via the bell icon in the top right of the menu bar.
notion image
Right now, the alerts page shows all reports you have previously created and exported. From here you can bookmark or archive any report. In future releases, the alerts page will also include automated notifications and suggestions.

4. Upgraded tables

The Initiatives and Portfolios tables have been upgraded to a new UI style that offers significant speed improvements and will support additional functionality in the future.
All other tables across the application will be updated in phases.

Sort, search, and filter

  • Sort by clicking the arrow within any column header
  • Search within the table using the magnifying glass icon in the top right of the table
  • Filter using the Filter button β€” add one or more filters (e.g. by portfolio name), save them for later, and clear them when done

Hide and reorder columns

Click the Columns button to open the column management panel. Use the drag handles on the left to reorder columns, and the toggle switches on the right to show or hide them. Hidden columns are not deleted β€” this is just a view preference. Your layout is saved for next time. Click Reset to restore the default column layout.

Edit, duplicate, or delete a row

Click the three-dot menu on the far right of any table row to access options to edit, duplicate, or delete that item.
Β

Duplicating an initiative

To duplicate an existing initiative, click the three-dot menu on its table row and select Duplicate. You can then set the new initiative name, estimated start date, and choose which elements to copy across.

Bulk actions

Select rows using the checkboxes on the left side of the table. You can select all rows in the current view, or use the blue panel to select all results across all pages. Current bulk actions include Bulk Deploy and Delete. More bulk actions are planned for later this year.

5. Create an initiative

Create an initiative faster

The create initiative flow has been redesigned as a full-screen dialog designed for speed.
notion image
  1. Initiative name
  1. Portfolio (optional β€” search by typing or use the dropdown)
  1. Target go-live date (required β€” note: this field was previously called "estimated go-live date"; the name has changed because a future release will support multiple go-live dates per initiative)
  1. Owner (defaults to you, but you can search and assign someone else)
Click Save to create the initiative and jump straight into it.

Add/Edit initiative details

We’ve moved the following initiative details to their own β€˜Edit initiative’ page in order to keep the new initiative creation flow fast:
  • Hashtags
  • Status
  • Initiative type
  • Completion date
  • Sponsor
  • Project manager
  • Initiative access
To edit these details, click the Edit initiative link in the left menu

Here you’ll find the familiar initiative details page, which will be upgraded:
