ChangePlan has a refreshed look and a faster engine underneath. Everything you used before is still here and works largely the same way. Here’s what you’ll notice first.
A new left menu. Your main areas sit in one menu: Initiatives, Data metrics, Activities, Timeline, Audiences, Reports and Settings. You can collapse the menu to give yourself more room.
A Create button. Start a new initiative or portfolio from the Create button at the top of the menu.
Search. Use the search bar at the top to find initiatives and records. Results open on a search results page.
A new initiatives table. Sort, filter, search within the table, and show or hide columns.
Reports have their own page. Portfolio reports (heat maps, collision timeline, activity burden) are now under Reports in the left menu.
Exports go to Alerts. When you export a report, the file appears on the Alerts page when it’s ready.
Help is one click away. Use Go to support site for guides like this one, or Feedback/Support to send us a message.

Inside an initiative

Each initiative has its own menu
Each initiative has its own menu
Open any initiative to see its own menu: Dashboard, Initiative setup (Edit initiative, Change effort, Initiative brief, Change canvas and Checklists), Documents, Audience, Activities, Impacts, Risks, Benefits, Reports, Delivery update, Timeline and AI Insights. AI Insights only appears if your admin has turned on AI features.

Where things moved

  • Portfolio reports (heat maps, collision timeline, activity burden): Reports in the left menu
  • Exported files: the Alerts page (the bell icon at the top)
  • Creating an initiative or portfolio: the Create button at the top of the left menu
  • Audiences, Activities and Timeline across all initiatives: their own items in the left menu
  • Log out: click your initials in the top right corner
  • Help and feedback: Go to support site and Feedback/Support at the bottom of the left menu

Do I need to do anything?

Not yet. The new ChangePlan is being introduced in stages. Your ChangePlan admin can turn it on from Settings, and switch back to the previous version at any time. Your data is the same in both versions, so changes you make in one show in the other. If you’d like to try it, ask your admin.

More about the changes

Watch a walkthrough of the new navigation, search, Alerts page, tables and Create dialog:
Switch between initiatives. The dropdown next to the initiative name has gone. Your recently viewed initiatives are listed in the left menu; click one to open it. To sort that list by most recent or alphabetically, click the three dots next to Initiatives in the left menu. If the initiative isn't listed, click Initiatives to go back to the full table, or search for it.
Go back to the home screen. Click the ChangePlan logo in the top left to return to the Initiatives page.
Search tips. Search doesn't update as you type: press Enter or click the arrow to see results. The search bar at the top searches the whole application; the magnifying glass on a table searches only that table.
Alerts. On the Alerts page you can bookmark or archive any report you've exported.
Creating an initiative. The Create dialog asks only for the initiative name, portfolio (optional), target go-live date (previously called estimated go-live date) and owner (defaults to you). Hashtags, status, initiative type, completion date, sponsor, project manager and initiative access are set from Edit initiative in the initiative's left menu.
Duplicate an initiative. On the Initiatives table, click the three-dot menu on a row and choose Duplicate. Set the new name and start date, and choose which elements to copy.
For sorting, filtering and choosing columns, see Work with tables.
