How can we help?

Review change effort across initiatives

Use the Change effort report to see effort levels and clashing go-live dates across all initiatives.

Who this is for: Portfolio leads, change managers and executives who plan change across the organisation.
The Change effort report gives you one view of change effort across all initiatives. Use it to decide where dedicated change resources are needed and to spot go-live dates that clash.

Open the report

  1. Click Reports in the left menu.
  1. Choose Change effort. The report opens with all initiatives across your organisation.

Set up and generate

  1. Use the filters to narrow the report, for example by portfolio, audience or initiative type.
  1. Open the Timeline tab to see initiatives over time.

Read the report

Heatmap

  • Shows change effort across all initiatives.
  • Hover over an initiative to see its number of impacts, audience count and number of activities.

Effort breakdown (donut chart)

  • Shows the share of initiatives rated Low, Medium and High effort.
  • Low-effort initiatives can often be managed by the project team. Medium- and high-effort initiatives may need dedicated change management resources.

Collision timeline

  • Shows all initiatives and their target go-live dates. Scroll forward or back in time.
  • Look for periods where several initiatives go live together, then consider resequencing them. Use it as an early warning, not a scheduling tool.

How it is calculated

Each initiative's effort level comes from its Change Effort Assessment. See Change Effort Assessment for how initiatives are rated.

Options

  • Filters: portfolio, audience and initiative type.
  • Timeline tab: switch from the heatmap to a view of initiatives over time.

Export

Click Export on the report. ChangePlan prepares the file, and you download it from Alerts when it's ready. See Find and export reports.

If nothing shows

  • Clear or widen your filters.
  • If an initiative doesn't appear as expected, check that its Change Effort Assessment has been completed.
