Read the report
Section | How to use it | Example |
Summary (top text box) | Two or three sentences on the current state: key developments, milestones done and coming up, and high-priority issues. Imagine your sponsor asks "How's it going?" in a lift. | "A delay in vendor data has impacted scheduling. We're sticking to the original training timeline but will need a refresher session, exceeding the training budget." |
Change Activity Progress | Pulled automatically. Check the completion of engagement, communications and training, and call out anything behind schedule with a note or colour. | "Engagement is progressing well, but training delivery is lagging at 25%. Extra support may be needed to meet go-live readiness." |
Stakeholder Activity Snapshot | Shows recent and upcoming change activities. Check the data is accurate and add context where needed. | |
Change Health & RAG Status | Show whether the initiative is on track (Red, Amber, Green). Explain why a status changed and what's needed to fix issues. | "Previously Amber, now Green after engagement improved alignment on readiness." |
Stakeholder Happiness | Capture feedback on sentiment and name groups that need more engagement. | "HR and IT have raised workload concerns. Extra meetings are scheduled." |
Risks | List high-priority risks and the mitigation or support needed. | "Risk: low adoption due to resistance from finance. Mitigation: extra training next month." |
Change Team Capacity | Say whether the change team has enough resources, and where more support is needed. | "Team bandwidth is limited, which may affect the next phase. Consider reallocating resources or adjusting timelines." |
Actions, Decisions & Blockers | Record decisions and actions, and highlight blockers that need executive help. If there are none, say so to reassure readers. Help leaders see how they can support you. | "Decision needed: extend the timeline for final training or secure more trainers." Or: "No blockers at this time. No action required." |
How it is calculated
ChangePlan pre-fills the report from the initiative:
- Checklist items and their completion percentages
- Activities from the past 7 days and the next 7 days
- Communications and training activity counts
Everything else is free text that you write.
Options
Once exported, the PowerPoint is fully editable, so you can match your company's branding:
- Colours: in PowerPoint, click Design > Customize Colors, choose your brand scheme and click Apply.
- Fonts: click Design > Customize Fonts and choose your corporate font.
- Logo: select the title area (top left), click Insert > Picture > From File and choose your logo.
- Layout: click any text box to add detail, use bullet points for short updates, and drag or resize elements to highlight key sections.
Export
The report downloads as a PowerPoint (.pptx) file that you can edit and share.
If nothing shows
If the activity sections are empty, check that the initiative has activities dated in the past 7 days or the next 7 days. If checklist progress is empty, add checklist items to the initiative's change checklist.
