How can we help?

View impacts by change or by audience

Use the By Change and By Audience tabs on an initiative's Impacts page to review impacts and find gaps.

Who this is for: Anyone who views or edits an initiative's impacts
The Impacts page of an initiative shows the same impacts in two ways. Use By Change for a summary of each change, and By Audience to see how each group or person is affected.

Open the impact views

  1. Open the initiative and choose Impacts in its left menu.
  1. Choose the By Change tab or the By Audience tab.

Compare the two views

View
What each row shows
Use it to
By Change
One change, with all its impacted audiences grouped together
Get a high-level summary of the changes and see which changes reach the most people
By Audience
One audience (group or individual) for one change, so there are more rows
Understand the full impact on a team or person, sort by group to analyse a department or team, and tailor communications and training

Find impacts with no supporting activities

  1. On the By Change tab, sort by the number of activities.
  1. Click a change to see the activities attached to it.
  1. For any change with no activities, link an existing activity (such as a communication, training or engagement meeting) or create a new one.

Sort, filter and choose columns

Both tabs use ChangePlan's tables: click a column heading to sort, use Filter to narrow the list, and use Columns to show or hide columns.

See the impacts for one group

  1. Open the initiative and choose Audience.
  1. Select a group, for example Operations Team.
  1. Choose its Impacts tab to see every change affecting that group.
This is a quick way to check one group without working through the full Impacts page.
