Weighted Impacts by Type – Per Level 1 Org Chart Group

Which teams are facing the greatest volume and severity of change?

What’s different from ChangePlan's native heatmap?
The native heatmap shows color thresholds, but this report:
- Displays exact weighted scores in every cell
- Lets you filter, sort, and export for governance use
- Allows you to layer in other filters (portfolio, initiative type, hashtag)
- Can be combined with other datasets like capability or pulse checks
How it looks:
A table with business units across the top and impact types down the side. Each cell shows the weighted score for that group and impact type. At the bottom is a Grand Total row showing totals per type; at the far right, a Grand Total column showing totals per group. Those totals can be colored red-amber-green to highlight the heaviest loads.
How to build it:
- Export Change Impact Heatmap > Full Underlying Data
- Copy Columns A–O into a new sheet
- Use
Data > Text to Columns > Delimited > ">"on Column O to extract Org Level 1
- Rename Column O as Org Level 1 Group
- Use
=TRIM()to remove spaces
- Insert Pivot Table:
- Rows: TYPE
- Columns: ORG LEVEL 1 GROUP
- Values: WEIGHTING → ensure set to Sum, not Count
- (Optional) Apply conditional formatting to totals row/column only
